The m/s Paul Gauguin was designed specifically to sail the shallow seas of Tahiti and French Polynesia, visiting small ports that larger ships can’t reach and effortlessly blending into the stunning natural beauty of the South Seas. She offers an extension of the informal, relaxing environment of the islands, coupled with five-star service, comfort and luxury. Spacious suites and staterooms (more than 70% with private balconies), an onboard watersports marina, a choice of three open-seating dining venues and an extensive spa are among her luxurious attributes. The atmosphere aboard ship radiates warmth, informality, and Polynesian flair. And our beloved troupe of Gauguines—a local Tahitian group who serve as cruise staff, entertainers and storytellers—add the unique personality of Tahiti to every cruise.
In December 2012, a second luxury ship, The Moana, will begin sailing under the Paul Gauguin Cruises banner. Scheduled to undergo a multifaceted renovation to be completed that month, The Moana will accommodate just 90 guests and will reflect the high standard of quality and service already established for the cruise line by the m/s Paul Gauguin.
The Moana specializes in European, Caribbean, and Latin American destinations, with an emphasis on delivering unique itineraries that larger ships cannot offer and exploring hidden ports throughout these regions. Spacious staterooms, an onboard watersports marina, a choice of two open-seating venues, and extensive spa are among her luxurious attributes. There is simply no better way to experience Europe, the Caribbean, or Latin America than aboard this sleek and sophisticated, intimate ship.
Outdoor Pool and Pool Bar
Enjoy a refreshing dip in our onboard swimming pool, located under the sky on Deck 8 aboard The Gauguin or Deck 5 aboard The Moana. Or perhaps you’ll simply relax poolside in a deck chair, with a good book and a beverage from the Pool Bar. Aboard The Gauguin, you can also take advantage of our onboard SCUBA lessons. The Gauguin is the only luxury ship in French Polynesia to offer PADI certification on board for novice divers, as well as refresher courses.
Watersports are a highlight of the Paul Gauguin Cruises’ experience. On The Gauguin, the watersports marina makes it convenient and easy for guests to make the most of their time on the water.
The food aboard our vessels may forever set the standard as the most sumptuous meals you ever tasted. We even cater to special requests, with delicious vegetarian and low-carb options available on request. And throughout your dining experience, our attentive staff will discreetly ensure that the dishes you select are what you want, that your complimentary wine is perfectly paired, and that you are surrounded with convivial company.

Le Grand Salon (m/s Paul Gauguin)
Watch spectacular performances, such as an electrifying Polynesian show featuring the arts of the islands in the main lounge by our beloved troupe of entertainers, Les Gauguines. One night it might be the soaring a cappella harmonies of himene songs. Another show might feature a guest Polynesian troupe offering a thrilling performance of ote'a—a complex line dance accompanied by drums telling the ancestral legends of the Polynesian people. On other nights, you might marvel at the skill of a pianist … tap your foot to a rock band … or hum along to familiar tunes performed by a veteran of Broadway. Our selection of entertainment is sure to make every evening a pleasure!
